Re: Nathans

I don't have an issue with fans being pissed off with the board about moving stadium and not delivering on promises made particularly on the pitch but I have never got the notion that the club owe all the local business anything.
These businesses benefited more from West Ham being in their area rather than the other way round. Why should the club be responsible for them?

Re: Nathans

The club sent a “business representative” of sorts round to all the local shop, stall and cafe owners promising spots around the OS and assistance in relocation.
This was BEFORE the deal was signed and whilst they were pretending to canvass opinion.
Once the deal was signed that rep disappeared. The promises were made to distract from anyone daring to dissent and protest against the move.
There’s a video on YouTube about it, think it was and Guardian or Independant thing.
In short the board are lying fucking cunts.

As much as its not nice someone having to close their business, especially after 80 years, the club do not owe everyone a living.
They could’ve moved with the times themselves, relocated to Stratford (yes it’s expensive) or even to continue going move to an area in Essex where pie and mash is still in demand.
Can’t blame the owners on this one.

Re: Nathans

It’s a shame they lost the match day revenue, but I doubt they did much business the rest of the time.
And I agree with Swindon. The owners don’t owe any of these local businesses anything. They all made a decent bit of wedge off the back of the club being there.

The club doesn't owe them anything just as they don't owe the club anything.
If you are reliant on your business succeeding purely from a football club playing on your doorstep 20 times a year then you will always be in trouble.

I am not saying the Club owes anyone a living, I am pointing out correctly that the Club told these people a pack of lies.

If the Club tells them it’ll get them pitches at the OS and then fucks them off and they can’t get pitches as it’s wrapped up by the catering lot there’s not a lot they can do is there?

People complaining for the sake of complaining now.
They had years to work out their next step but they didn’t have the bollocks and stuck in their ways.
The people that actually cared have still been going on match days etc, I know loads that do.
Most saying it’s the owners faults probably haven’t even stepped foot on barking road since we left let alone go into Nathan’s.

Re: Nathans

I’m not sure how they could have helped them relocate to outside the LS. Pie & Mash wouldn’t work, like the mobile units/stalls outside the ground.
The Ribman had a plot outside UP, and now has one at the LS.

Re: Nathans

That Nathans business plan in full:
1) Be oblivious to demographic changes in area which means all your customers are dying off and being replaced by foreigners who won't eat the product you sell 2) Become totally reliant on 19 days a year when West Ham have a home game 3) Find out West Ham are moving to Stratford 4) Buy sandpit 5) Ignore 3) for several years and bury head in 4) 6) Stay in business losing money for 2 years after they leave the area 7) Make one last trip to cash and carry to buy copious amounts of TIZER 8) Close down
Hard to have too much sympathy, really.

So this is West Ham LONDON, is it ?
We make a commitment, as Johnson rightly says, don't honour it and that's all right?
How would a business go about planning for a future that didn't come to be what the club had promised ?
Short answer is those scum cunts didn't want those businesses to have a place at the OS...that wouldn't fit in with that cunt Brady's plans for socio-economic cleansing.
Great, super. Cunts.

Shut up ya silly cunt, so if you owned your own business you’d sit on your arse and hope for the best. You wouldn’t think of getting out there and making something happen for yourself?
Stupid Cunt!

Re: Nathans

I’m referring to the stall holders and caterers as a whole, they all were made promises and lied to.
The Ribman took it upon himself to plot up at Truman’s brewery, the club then cashed in on his popularity and gave him an OS slot after the social media mongs kept going on about it.

Re: Nathans

If you’re a stallholder plotted up outside the ground and have been told that the club will organise your new plot outside the new ground then you’re likely to wait on that aren’t you?
Nathan’s is slightly different which is why I have clearly referred to more Ham just them brains.
